چکیده

Introduction: Surgical approach in vitreous hemorrhage (VH) secondary to diabetic retinopathy remains the procedure of choice for non-clearing VH. However, most appropriate timing vitrectomy is yet be defined. With improvements surgical techniques, it reasonable operate on such patients that have no spontaneous improvement.
Objective: To compare characteristics between groups who underwent immediate and delayed management due proliferative (PDR).
Methods: Retrospective review 35 VH PDR. Patients were excluded if they had prior vitrectomy, follow up < 1 month post-operatively, other retinal pathology, causes, uveitis, or advanced glaucoma. Primary outcome was visual acuity receiving (< 30 days) versus (> vitrectomy. Secondary analyses included post-surgical complications.
Results: eyes included, 13 while 22 There difference terms age, gender, diabetes control, duration. Pre-operative final acuities evaluated, including 7 days, 30-days 3-months both Groups. Complications within 3 months dominantly seen Group.
Conclusion: Immediate PDR decreases time spent with vision loss, complications. Modern surgery safe may considered earlier management.
